Sheetla Mandir Himachal Pradesh
Goddess Sheetla Temple is an extremely hallowed shrine, situated in Jangla Village in Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh. The temple lies on the Gehrwin-Badol-Dhanathar Road, approximately 2km from Gehrwin. Sheetla temple is built in the centre of a tank, bridged by a concrete path. Legends have it that Goddess Sheetla, the younger sister of Goddess Badol Devi, had appeared in the dream of a dweller of Jangla Village and ordered him to install an idol of hers in the spot where water was plenteous. Though he tried to establish the idol near a pond, his footsteps mechanically took him to the present day temple spot. Since there was no water there, in order to execute the Goddess`s instruction, he constructed a tank and finally consecrated the idol exactly in the centre.
