Ramnath Temple Goa

The Ramnath temple is much popular, situated at 33 kms from Panaji, Bandivade in Ponda Taluka of Goa. The divinity of the Ramnath temple of Goa existed from 3000 years B.C. which was organized by God Rama. While Lord Ramachandra arrived to his own state along with Sita after winning the fight with Ravana he arrived to this position. The Ravana who was very skilled Brahmin was killed by him in order to forgive his guilty he prayed to Lord Shiva. He arrived to this location and created a linga that is recognized as the symbol of Lord Shiva and prayed to linga. Therefore, the identity of the temple is Ramanath. In reality, the Ramnath temple of Goa was located in Salcette of Goa. The chief Idol of the Ramnath temple of Goa was then transferred to Bandivade of Goa during 16th century due to the reason as the old temple was turned to demolition. The Ramnath Temple of Goa is approximately 450 years old.

The foremost divine of the Ramnath Temple is Lord Ramnath who is further identified as Lord Shiva. Though Lord Shiva is truly wonderful, therefore, the Ramnath Temple of Goa is recognized as Ramnathi. Also, there are other two goddesses who are praised in this temple that are Goddess Santeri (Shantadurga) and Goddess Kamakshi. Idols such as Ganesh, Shri Kaalbhairav and Shri Betal are found in this temple which is also considered as Ramnathi Panchayatna.

Presently, this temple is recognized as one of the major tourist destinations in Goa whereby innumerable devotees, individuals as well as travelers visit this place. The Ramnath Temple of Goa is a very popular shrine and a very accessible to visit as it is linked to chief cities of Goa.
