Temples in Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh (HP) is called as Dev Bhoomi—the land of temples—besides being recognized as the most prominent tourism destination in India. Temples in HP include many Hindu temples. According to reports Hinduism is around 95% of the total population, making it the most Hindu State in the country. The most famous temples in Himachal Pradesh are many, but the Naina Devi Temple, located in the Bilaspur District is known all over India, as scores of devotees visit this Devi Temples in Himachal Pradesh, every year. Shimla, the capital of the Himachal Pradesh holds a special charm of its own for the tourists visiting it; called popularly as the Queen of Hill, this beautiful town is located at an altitude of 2,200 meters and served as the summer capital for the British by virtue of its accommodating weather even during the peak summer season.

The major transportation is by road, but the famous Kalka-Shimla Railway track covers almost 96 kilometres that includes the part of the journey, most breathtaking, while passing through 102 tunnels and crossing almost 864 bridges in all.

Manali or popularly called as the Kulumanali, is another hill station, captivating the tourists every moment of their stay. The tourists simply lust after the place, just to view the stupendous snow capped peaks, breathtaking deodar and pine tress, virgin fields, fruit orchards and of course the meandering Beas.
