Viralimalai Murugan temple

Viralimalai Murugan Temple is one of the famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Muruga, located in the town of Viralimalai about 30 km from Trichy, 40 km from Pudukottai and 15 km from Manapparai in Tamil Nadu, India.

More information from Auditor M. Dhandapani, Dindigul. The very famous Tamil saint Sri Arunagiri Nadhar, who wrote hundreds of poems on Lord Muruga, has written poems on Viralimalai Lord Murugan also. He had got a chance to see Lord Muruga directly at this temple. Hundreds of peacocks live in this hill and in the surrounding areas. Sometimes the peacocks climb the hill by walking like us instead of flying. I have personally seen such a beautiful scene. In the temple Lord Muruga blessings the devotees with six faces and along with his wives Valli and Deivanai. The temple is built up in a very small hill and hence we can easily climb and get the blessings of Lord. Viralimalai is on the Four way track of Madurai to Trichirapalli and hence we can easily go to the temple. I request all the Lord Murugan devotees to try to visit the temple at least once in life and get the blessings of the Lord.
