Koti Lingala Temple

History

Sri Swayambhu Narmada Baana Kotilingala Devasthanam famously known as Kotilingala Temple is located at Kashibuga, Warangal. Temple is constructed in 1987 by Shri. Padisala Veera Bhadraiah.

A person if lives for 100 years, he can perform 36500 abhisheka. It takes 27397 years to perform koti abhisheka. This is never achievable by a normal human being in his life time. Shri Padisala Veera Bhadraiah's devotion towards this goal and long term plan, he designed the temple in panchakshari model, which allow devotees to perform abhisheka for Koti Lingas in one day.

Kotilingala Temple as the word says, the temple has Koti* Lingas **. There are many temples in India with Koti Lingas. The importance of this temple over other temples is that, devotees can perform abhishekam to all the koti lingas.

[Narmada Key Kankar, Sab Shankar] – This historical saying mentions, the pebbels(baanalu) from narmada river are form of Lord Shiva (Linga).

Baanalu has been brought from Naramada river near "Itarsi village". Divers has been used to bring these one crore linga from underwater of Naramada river and moved to place Warangal, Andhra Pradesh where temple has been constructed.

In this Panchakshari model, a star model is created on top of a pillar. Lingas are placed in a pillar in vertical order, instead of the normal horizontal approach. On top of the Pillar the Main linga is placed. Performing abhisheka to this linga will allow the flowing of water to all the lingas below it, performing koti linga abhishekam. Star model created will allow devotes to stand and perform pooja to the linga.

We have been recieving many requests on Linga Prathista. The temple has been constructed in 1987 and prathista for all the one crore (koti) lingas has been completed. There is no more chance of Linga Prathista.
